The Polidori House is now open and accepting qualified patients. Residents of the Polidori House receive full-time, professional medical care while living in a beautiful home-like setting. The full Hospice of Havasu lineup of services is available to all patients.
Resting on about 1.25 acres at 1970 Bahama Ave., the facility has six private patient rooms, each outfitted with a covered patio and adjoining quarters for family members. The house is the result of a generous gift to the community from the Quinto Polidori family, as well as the donations of several local contractors and residents.
“The whole idea is to have a family place, to make it as homey as possible, so the family can comfortably be there with the patient,” Veronica Polidori said in an earlier interview with Pam Ashley of Today’s News-Herald. “That was Quinto’s whole life — his family.”
The Polidori House is designed for those patients who are unable to continue to live in their own home. It is a part of the total patient care that Hospice of Havasu offers. We currently average nearly 100 patients, and that figure will continue to increase over the years. Most patients will decide to reside at home, or in another facility, but the Polidori House gives another option for some patients. It’s a wonderful asset for the community.
The Polidori House is an assisted living facility, meaning patients pay for their time there. Many patients have the means to pay for the services, while others may have some insurance coverage for such a facility. There is also a variable fee structure for those who have limited ability to pay for the services.
