Testimonials

“Hospice of Havasu helped a good friend of mine. He had suffered a major stroke and was hooked up to life support at the hospital. It was the only thing keeping him alive. His wife knew his wishes were not to kept alive by machines. In my work as a volunteer with the American Red Cross; I had met Sarah Messmer, the Community Liaison for Hospice of Havasu, and so I knew I could reach out to her for the help my friend needed. Within hours, the wonderful Hospice of Havasu Admissions Team arranged for a bed at the Polidori House. As soon as my friend arrived there, I could see the burden being lifted off his wife’s shoulders. You could see the pain and concern leave her. The staff was just awesome. The staff asked if my friend was a veteran. He was – he served in the Air Force. They were able to pull together the most meaningful, heartwarming “We Honor Veterans” ceremony for him. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. I can’t say enough about the helpful, compassionate, caring staff.”

Dear Hospice of Havasu,

“We just had to write and tell you how much we appreciate the service you provide for us and our mother. My mother celebrated her 90th birthday. We asked Chaplain Pete if he would come to the assisted living facility, play his guitar, and sing a few songs for her. He gladly accepted the invitation. It was the highlight of my mother’s day. Chaplain Pete’s acceptance to come and play was beyond just doing a job, he was so giving and caring to her, we couldn’t be more thankful. These are trying times in a family’s life. All of your staff have been wonderful, but Chaplain Pete should be recognized for going the extra mile in showing such loving care and joy he gave my mother. Thank you again for all you and your staff do.”

“I am so thankful that Hospice of Havasu was with us during his last weeks on this earth. Your help and compassion allowed us to take that journey together as we shared each day to be a treasured blessing from God. I would like to thank all the staff, nurses, Chaplain Doug, the aides who were so caring and efficient during this whole process. The fact that I could call at any time if I had a question or concern (which I did) was comforting and made it less stressful for me.”
